Murray Roberts, Sales & Marketing Director, to retire

Wednesday, 10th October 2018

October 2018 - Murray Roberts, Sales and Marketing Director, aslotel is set to retire at the end of 2018 after 40 years at the company. Murray started the business with co-founder Eric Smith in 1978 when they introduced the concept of hairdryers in hotel guest bathrooms. It was an alien idea to many hoteliers who, at the time, considered it to be the responsibility of guests to bring their own. However the concept took off and quickly became an industry standard. Since those early days, aslotel has played a major role in shaping the guest amenity market and has built an extensive range of products to supply an impressive portfolio of hotel clients.

Murray commented “I am proud of our achievements over the last 40 years and, as the company is in such a strong position, I have decided to step aside for a new and exciting era” he continued “aslotel has a solid foundation with great products and will continue to flourish”

Aslotel employs over 20 people at its head office in Surrey and has a regional sales team that operates throughout the UK and ROI. The company offers a wide choice of luxury hotel toiletries, bedroom and bathroom equipment as well as an extensive range of housekeeping, porterage, and food & beverage trolleys.

Murray will be at the Independent Hotel Show, Olympia, on Stand 55 16 – 17 October 2018 if you would care to see/meet him.
